Wanderin' about Cats
After our
recent short interview video behind the scenes at
Merseycats, we thought we would wander about the show area. Unfortunately the lights are down and the bands are
loud, but I hope it gives you an idea of the atmosphere on the night. The new 20th Anniversary Tee-shirt was shown for the first time modelled
by the "Lovely" Josh. The Chairman Wally Shepard
played with a harp in the wrong key (As ever, he blamed Dave
Myers). We managed to grab a short interview with
Dave Forshaw who was one of the
leading theatrical agents from the sixties who famously booked the
Beatles for £10. Perhaps we can coax Dave into giving us another interview soon, as he is one of the
remaining "I really was there" people and I'm
sure he has lot's of fascinating stories to tell. Apologies to The
Chris Rimmer Band for cutting them off in midstream (Somebody nudged me). Welcome back to
Frank Hoply on keyboards who has recently joined Chris's band. Jim Kelly
was up again guesting with the band. Just another great night at Cats, full up once again.
He's only been back playing for a few weeks!
But already he's a star in Germany again. Ricky Gleason has just returned from Germany where he
performed at three gigs. He is pictured here with
Bernardo Germany's top artist who is really into Merseybeat,
Bernardo's wife Elfi and Ricky' brother Ian . Bernardo
gave Ricky a signed picture of Paul McCartney. I'm
not sure what's on the front of the T-shirt, perhaps Maja can translate. Ricky has a new CD out with part of the price going to
MerseyCats, so please buy it.
Behind the Scenes At MerseyCats
We give you a look behind the scenes at MerseyCats
and talk to some of the personalities including Sam Hardie and John Frankland from
the Dominoes, Karl Terry and Geoff Nugent from the Undertakers from those glorious Cavern
days.
